what is the use of studying

  1. By the time someone reaches adulthood they mostly only use the left side of their brain while studying, that's the mathematical side - where you think in black and white. Kids use the whole thing, probably why they do better in their minor tests! Use both sides, it's the only true reliable way. Think in colour, use your imagination, think 'clear' and 'babylike'; all it is, is simple info - but more of it.
  2. Clear your desk - if you think you can do just as well with a messy desk as you can with a neat orderly one. Have a folder for each subject and make your bed - all three oddly make you remember more.
  3. Relax.
  4. Start studying as soon as you can after school. The minute you come in the door, slam your bag on the ground, run upstairs, take a shower (if you need it), and start studying straight after.
  5. Listen in class. Believe it or not, those who do well in any subject listen in class, even if they don't appear to be.
  6. Pick out the important words in bold and look them up on the net or get it from the textbook and write your own definition for them - this helps greatly.
  7. Paraphrase. By paraphrasing you can make the information easier to handle, making it better to remember what you've learned.
  8. For your homework, use the resources available to you - the main ones being the text book and class notes. More or less rewrite it in your own words. Sounds kind of "duh!" but you'd be surprised by the amount of people who do badly because they don't read the book.
  9. Get cheat notes and read them. This will make you seem and feel more clever when you're reading the textbook.
  10. Associate your theory with a practice example. If you are studying history try to make a tale related to it. It will help you to know it very well.
  11. Take an interest in the subject, but don't be too focused on being interested. Let yourself say "Oh my gosh, really?" every once in a while, even if you feel like an idiot. Then make a note of what you did not know and say "Wow, that's amazing."
  12. Have the ability to relax with your textbooks. The tests aren't the end of the world so take a deep breath and relax.
  13. Do not spend more than 1 hour studying without having a break because the mind gets tired and does not give attention to the subject.

  • Tips:
  • Think positively.
  • Be persistent.
  • Work tough.
  • Give your best effort.
  • Be organized.
  • Set realistic and achievable goals.
  • read for 45 minutes and relax 15 minutes, and if you read continuously you will forget all what you have read before.

Sachin Tendulkar raises funds for cancer-afflicted children

  • A simple message posted by Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on social networking site 'Twitter' raised over Rs ten million for a cancer charity.
  • The response to Tendulkar's post on his Twitter feed was overwhelming, raising Rs 10.25 million within two weeks of the appeal, called Sachin's Crusade Against Cancer in Children.
  • Earlier on Thursday, Tendulkar presented a bat signed by him to the donors and thanked them at an event organized by the 'Crusade Against Cancer Foundation'.
  • "This wouldn't have been possible if wonderful people like you wouldn't be there in this world. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having donated generously," said Tendulkar.
  • Some have donated massive amounts. Some have donated in spite of having lot of problems, financial problems. They have been generous enough and courageous enough and helpful enough to donate to the needy ones," he added
  • Tendulkar urged more contributions and participation in the charity for cancer patients.
  • We have received better response than what we expected. All the donors who have donated generously, irrespective of donated amount, even the donation of 100 or 200 rupees really matter to us," said Tendulkar.

The mother of world mother teresa history

  • Mother Teresa  50 Years of Good Works and Inner Darkness  (1910-1997)

  • The wrinkled smiling face shining out from her blue trimmed white religious robes surrounded by poverty stricken children and people of the streets of Calcutta is but one of the enduring images of Mother Teresa.
  • Mother Teresa devoted her life to working with the poor in Calcutta, India. In 1950 she established theMissionaries of Charity. Her deeds of kindness were legendary and her selfless devotion to caring for the poor transcends the record of most humanitarians. She is an icon for charity. By the time of her death in 1997, over 500 Missionaries of Charity Centers were operating in over 100 countries.
  • Mother Teresa’s mission in her own words in 1950 was: “…to care for the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone."
  • If anyone was worthy of receiving awards, private audiences with queens, presidents and other world leaders, honorary degrees, the Nobel Peace Prize, and many other distinctions of honor – it was Mother Teresa
  • Could such a life of selfless devotion and sacrifice coupled with decades of good deeds, acts of charity and countless missions of mercy help a person find favour with God and ultimately assure them of eternal life and a home in heaven?
  • Who is qualified to answer this fundamental question? Assuming every person in their right mind wants to arrive in Heaven, an authoritative answer on this matter of finding merit with God is required. If God ruled on this critical subject, would you accept His ruling and final decision?
  • God’s Word is clear and unequivocal. Read these verses from the Bible and you will see there is nothing ambiguous with God on the matter of earning salvation or redemptive favourwith God by self efforts. It can’t be done.
50 YEARS OF INNER DARKNESS:

  • “I am told God lives in me – and yet the reality of darkness and coldness and emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul.” And again: “I feel just that terrible pain of loss, of God not wanting me, of God not being God, of God not really existing.”
  • Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat
  • I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money. No, I wouldn't touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the love of God.
  • I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?
  • If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other
  • If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.

what is the use of tablet-pc

  • The tablet PC computers are expected to be the big thing for 2011, with many manufacturers entering the market with either a Google Android or Microsoft operating systems installed on the portable devices. The biggest question seems to be what can you use the tablet PC for? There are many uses and it will very likely differ considerably from person to person.
  • For some people the tablet PC is all about portability. They want something bigger than a smartphone and they want to get on the Internet. There are two different kinds of tablet PC for Android OS. One is the Wi-fi only and the other will have Wi-fi and 3G or 4G mobile service. It can get tricky from there
  •  If a person still wants to use a mobile most of the time, they may want to have a mobile smartphone that can work as a wi-fi hotspot for your other devices, such as a tablet. For others users one device may be all they want, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab offers both the mobile service as well as the Wi-fi
  • Another use for the tablet PC is to use it for an ebook reader that is able to do more than just read digital books. The downfall is that the tablet PC computers don’t use the digital ink, which means that when you go out in the sun, chances are you aren’t going to reading your screen very well. But if you read sometimes, and want to play games other times, the tablet PC could be an option.
  • Keeping up with the news is another option for the Tablet PC’s. If you don’t want to have to read your news while sitting at your computer, you could have the small and portable tablet at your breakfast table as you sip on your coffee. You can also check the weather at your leisure.
  • If you like to listen to music you can do this. But what if you want to go online and watch some YouTube videos, or connect on Facebook. There will very likely be many educational opportunities for the tablet PC. Even some lessons on learning your favorite hobby.
  • How many times have you wanted to learn something new, but a bulky computer or laptop was cumbersome to move around to were you were working.
  • While there are games being developed for the tablets, it probably isn’t the main reason for investing in one. It might be fun to play a game while you are waiting in line, but the tablet PC’s will very likely be used as a digital planner and contact for people on the go.
  • There are dual pane tablets, ones with traditional keyboards that swivel out and ones that uses pens instead of your finger to navigate. There are going to be quite a selection, and if you commit to a tablet, it will take time to configure it to your liking and your interests.

Titanic Facts

  • History will always remember the sinking of the Titanic. It was one day when thousands of people lost their lives. Many of the survivors that were aboard this boat remembered April 14th when the Titanic sank under water after hitting an ice berg. Some were haunted by the things that happened.
  • Out of a total 2200 people aboard, many find it hard to imagine as to how they would have made it when it comes to getting off the boat. When people read about the system that they had, for many, it was very confusing. This is something that some people have to look at how people were to exit and how few life boats that were available.
  • People are also confused about the sinking of the Titanic. There are many who wonder how it even happened. Yeah they know that it struck an ice berg. Many understand that. However, what many people don’t understand is how they didn’t see it. What we have learned from survivor diaries is that there were so many ice bergs out there, that it was impossible not to hit one.
  • There were some who survived this that ended up having many nightmares about ice bergs because when they were in the water on the life boats, that is all they saw.  This would be a traumatic event. This is an event that no one wants to face, but some who read about this account of history say that accidents do happen. It might not be entirely their fault as historians are still learning about just what happened and which theory can be justifiable.
  • There are many who say the captain was to blame for the sinking of the Titanic for different reasons. There are some who say that he should have known a bit more about how to watch for those. He should have thought less about the money they could make when they had less life boats as they deemed it the safest boat and insisted that they still put the regulated about of them up. However, it is hard to say who is actually at fault for this.
  • There are many who after seeing this movie about the sinking Titanic didn’t want to go on boat rides. There were many who wonder what precautions they take to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. It is safe to say that they did many things since then to try to bring a safe ride where people don’t have to worry. This is what we found to be true about this. The sinking of the Titanic is something that we learned tons about as they found the boat and love learning about the lives that different people lead.
  • People who read about this in the news and wondered how such a thing could happen. It was the buzz of the time. Nowadays, they do everything in their power so that if such a thing happens, they can say they did their very best to ensure the safety of each and every passenger that comes on board.

  • History of Titanic:
After watching the sinking of the boat on the big screen, many want to know about the truth behind this. There are many who want to know the history of the Titanic. This is where they can come to learn about it as there is much to know.

  • It started on April 10, 1912 when the Titanic was to start her voyage. There were three levels. There was the bottom which was level three. This was for those who were poor. Then, there was the second class which was for those who might have been your average middle class. Then the top part was for the rich and famous. They had everything which people on floor one and two could get to with a pool and gym and many other things to keep them entertained.
  • Everything seemed to be in order. According to the history of the Titanic, people were saying that this was the best boat as it would be the first of its kind. It was the one that would take people in luxury. It was to be the safest boat. However, what we found to be true is that it wasn’t very safe. In fact, due to the lack of lifeboats that was on board for if anything happened, this became the boat that killed over 1500 people.
  • When looking at the passengers that were aboard this boat, there were people from all walks of life. We learned about who was then aboard from the ledgers that were filed. According to the history of the Titanic, there were men and women. There were young and old. There were people from all over who were on this boat.
  • When the Titanic sank, according to the history of the Titanic, the way they loaded was this way. Men were last to board the life boats as were immigrants. They tried to lock those in the third class downstairs, but the captain went to help them as there were women and children down there. Some wives stayed with their husbands. The Titanic found that after they hit the ice berg, they quickly sank. This is a bit about the overview of the history of the Titanic.
  • Many didn’t make it alive and they say trying to put a name to those people in order to id the deceased was harder than they could ever imagine. They had a lengthy system and many were buried who had died with no name and no one to know if it was them. It was quite easy to tell about those who were alive. Many were old enough to recall the name.
  • These survivors lived with things that haunted them. However, many went on and continued on in life as great people who became famous when they found the Titanic. Some were saddened to learn that the last one had died in 2006 as this made history come alive for all. Hollywood sure learned a lot and used what they had learned to create a movie about this which many saw and not a dry eye left many movie theatres after seeing the tragic tale unfold.

How to save the Petrol

12 Tips to save Petrol:

  • 1 ) Pump up your tyres
Keeping your tyres inflated is one of the easiest and most important things. Saving petrol means saving money one can do to improve fuel economy.
  • If a range is recommended by the manufacturer, the higher pressure should be used to maximize fuel efficiency. Deflated tyres run hot and jeopardize safety. It will also cause the tyres to wear out prematurely, affect the vehicles adversely, and hurt the fuel economy by increasing the rolling resistance.
  • Tyres lose about 1 psi pressure per month due to air loss caused by the tyre hitting holes, bumps and kerbs. Therefore, the tyres should be checked at least once a month. Just 1 tyre deflated by 2 psi will result in a 1% increase in fuel consumption.
  • 2) Drive at moderate speed
Avoiding high speeds on open roads resultsin safer driving and better fuel economy. In highway driving, over 50% of the power produced by the engine is used to overcome erodynamic drag. Drag and thus fuel consumption increases rapidly at speeds above 90km/h. On the average, a car uses about 15% more fuel at 100km/h, and 25% more fuel at 110km/h compared to when it is doing only 90km/h.
  • However, this should not lead one to conclude that the lower the speed, the better the fuel economy - because it is not. The fuel consumption of an average car increases sharply at speeds below 50km/h.
  • 3) Clean the air-filter regularly
Clogged air filters increase fuel consumption by restricting airflow to the engine, and thus should be cleaned/replaced when necessary. Clogged air filters can increase fuel consumption by up to 10%.
  • 4) Use thinner tyres
Tyres with thick width will improve the handling of your car. However, it will also increase your car's fuel consumption. Thicker tyres mean more rolling resistance! , and thus will consume more fuel.
  • 5) Start up the car properly
With today's cars, it is not necessary to prime the engine first by pumping the accelerator pedal repeatedly.Do not crank the engine excessively This only wastes fuel. When starting the engine, idle it no more than 30 seconds to warm it up. An engine will warm up faster on the road. However, avoid sudden acceleration before the engine has warmed up sufficiently.
  • 6) Drive in high gear (overdrive)
The engine runs most efficiently between around 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. To maintain these low revs you should change up through the gears as soon as practical and before the revs reach 2500 rpm.
  • For automatic transmission cars, you should always switch on your overdrive to help save fuel. Overdrive will allow your engine to change gears at lower revs. It also puts your transmission into an "economy" mode and lets it engage the final "overdrive" gear when cruising to ! keep the rpms extra low, thereby increasing fuel economy.
  • 7) Travel light
Avoid carrying any unnecessary weight in your car. On the average, every 50kg added load in your car will increase fuel consumption by 2%.
  • 8) Anticipate traffic ahead
A driver can reduce fuel consumption by up to 10% by anticipating traffic conditions ahead and adjusting the speed accordingly, and avoiding tailgating and thus unnecessary braking and acceleration.
  • Accelerations and decelerations waste fuel. Braking and abrupt stops can be minimized by not following too closely and slowing down gradually when approaching a red light. It takes up to six times as much fuel to move a car from a dead stop than it does for one moving at just a few km/h.
  • 9) Avoid strong acceleration
The fuel consumption remains at a minimum during steady driving at a moderate speed of about 90km/h. Keep in mind that every time the accelerator is hard pressed, t! he engine goes into a "fuel-enrichment" mode of operation that wastes fuel. The vehicle should always be gradually and smoothly accelerated. Using cruise control on highways can help maintain a constant speed and reduce fuel consumption.
  • 10) Minimise aerodynamic drag
Additional parts on the exterior of a vehicle such as roof racks and spoilers, or having the window open, Roof racks are bad for fuel economy increases air resistance and fuel consumption, in some cases by over 20%.
  • 11) Don't let your engine idle
Minimize fuel wasted in idling by stopping the engine whenever your car is stopped or held up for an extended period of time. Idling more than a minute consumes much more fuel than restarting the engine. By having the engine switched off, you will save more fuel than is lost from the burst of fuel involved in restarting the engine. The net increased wear and tear from this practice is negligible.
  • 12) Use the air-con sparingly
Air conditioners can use about 10 per cent extra fuel when operating. However, at speeds of over 80 km/h, use of air conditioning is better for fuel economy than an open window

what is the seven wonders of the world

  1. Christ the Redeemer Statue
  • The 105-foot-tall (38-meter-tall) "Christ the Redeemer" statue in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil , was among the "new seven wonders of the world" announced July 7 following a global poll to decide a new list of human-made marvels.
  • The winners were voted for by Internet and phone, American Idol style. The other six new wonders are the Colosseum in Rome, India's Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Jordan's ancient city of Petra, the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru, and the ancient Maya city of Chichén Itzá in Mexico.
  • The contest was organized by the New7Wonders Foundation—the brainchild of Swiss filmmaker and museum curator Bernard Weber—in order to "protect humankind's heritage across the globe." The foundation says the poll attracted almost a hundred million votes.
  • Yet the competition has proved controversial, drawing criticism from the United Nations' cultural organization UNESCO, which administers the World Heritage sites program (pictures of the newest World Heritage sites).
  • "This initiative cannot, in any significant and sustainable manner, contribute to the preservation of sites elected by [the] public," UNESCO said in a statement.
  • Christ the Redeemer statue
      2.Great Wall of China
  • This newly elected world wonder was built along China 's northern border over many centuries to keep out invading Mongol tribes.
  • Constructed between the fifth century B.C. and the 16th century, the Great Wall is the world's longest human-made structure, stretching some 4,000 miles (6,400 kilometers). The best known section was built around 200 B.C. by the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang Di.
  • The wall was among the winners of the New7Wonders poll announced during a televised ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal. However the Chinese state broadcaster chose not to broadcast the event, and Chinese state heritage officials refused to endorse the competition.
  • It was a different story for some of the other candidates. In Brazil, for example, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva encouraged his compatriots to vote for Rio de Janeiro's mountaintop statue of Jesus Christ.
  • View of the Great Wall of China
      3.The Colosseyum, Rome, Italy
  • The only finalist from Europe to make it into the top seven—the Colosseum inRome , Italy —once held up to 50,000 spectators who came to watch gory games involving gladiators, wild animals, and prisoners.
  • Construction began around A.D. 70 under Emperor Vespasian. Modern sports stadiums still resemble the Colosseum's famous design.
  • European sites that didn't make the cut include Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
  • The Vatican in Rome accused the competition's organizers of ignoring Christian monuments, none of which was featured among the 20 finalists. Archbishop Mauro Piacenza, head of culture and archaeology at the Vatican, called the omission of sites such as the Sistine Chapel "inexplicable."
  • The colosseum at dusk.
       4.Petra, Jordan
  • Perched on the edge of the Arabian Desert, Petra was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to A.D. 40).
  • Petra is famous for its many stone structures such as a 138-foot-tall (42-meter-tall) temple carved with classical facades into rose-colored rock. The ancient city also included tunnels, water chambers, and an amphitheater, which held 4,000 people.
  • The desert site wasn't known to the West until Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt came across it in 1812.
  • Jordan  has taken the New7Wonders competition seriously. Petra is an important attraction in a country where tourism has recently suffered due to troubles in the Middle East region, particularly in neighboring Iraq.
  • The Jordanian royal family backed a campaign promoting Petra's selection.
  • Petra, Jordan.
    5.Machu Picchu, Peru
  • One of three successful candidates from Latin America, Machu Picchu is a 15th-century mountain settlement in the Amazon region of Peru
  • The ruined city is among the best known remnants of the Inca civilization, which flourished in the Andes region of western South America. The city is thought to have been abandoned following an outbreak of deadly smallpox, a disease introduced in the 1500s by invading Spanish forces.
  • Hundreds of people gathered at the remote, 7,970-foot-high (2,430-meter-high) site on Saturday to celebrate Machu Picchu's new "seven wonders" status.
  • The winners were revealed at a soccer stadium in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, where Machu Picchu reportedly got one of the biggest cheers.
  • The other two Latin American selections were Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Chichén Itzá, Mexico.
  • Machu Picchu, Inca ruins  .
      6.Chichén Itzá, Mexico
  • Chichén Itzá is possibly the most famous temple city of the Mayas, a pre-Columbian civilization that lived in present day Central America. It was the political and religious center of Maya civilization during the period from A.D. 750 to 1200
  • At the city's heart lies the Temple of Kukulkan (pictured)—which rises to a height of 79 feet (24 meters). Each of its four sides has 91 steps—one step for each day of the year, with the 365th day represented by the platform on the top.
  • The New7Wonders competition was launched in 1999, and the voting process beginning in 2005. Nearly 200 nominations that came in from around the world were narrowed down to 21.
  • Unsuccessful finalists included the giant statues of Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean; the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia; and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
  • Chichén Itzá
   7.Taj Mahal, India
  • The Taj Mahal, in Agra, India , is the spectacular mausoleum built by Muslim Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to honor the memory of his beloved late wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
  • Construction began in 1632 and took about 15 years to complete. The opulent, domed mausoleum, which stands in formal walled gardens, is generally regarded as finest example of Mughal art and architecture. It includes four minarets, each more than 13 stories tall.
  • Shah Jahan was deposed and put under house arrest by one of his sons soon after the Taj Mahal's completion. It's said that he spent the rest of his days gazing at the Taj Mahal from a window.
